Teenage Acne:

Pimples and Acne are very common with Teenagers. Puberty and and hormones can increase the size of the oil glands ( these are called sebaceous glands) which may block skin pores and trap dead skin cells. This can cause bacteria to grow inside leading to pimples, inflammation and congestion. The pimples and acne can occur on the face, neck, chest and back. It can cause teens to be very conscious of it and may lead to having feelings of low self esteem. Both female and males can experience pimples and acne.

Adult Acne:

Much in the same way, Adults can experience an occurence of pimples and acne also, particularly during hormonal changes. For example some women may experience acne during or after a pregnancy due to the hormonal changes. Both women and men can experience adult acne at different phases of their life, it is not uncommon. The pimples and acne may occur on the face, neck, chest or back.

Y Lite Laser Acne Treatment:

The P Acnes bacteria resides in your sebaceous gland (oil glands). When the gland secretes sebum (oil) to lubricate your skin and hair, the bacteria causes infection.

The yellow light from our Y Lite Laser destroys the P Acne bacteria and shrinks the sebaceous gland (oil gland) to reduce the amount of sebum being produced. Our Y Lite Laser can target the sebaceous gland to destroy the bacteria WITHOUT DAMAGING any skin or surrounding tissue.
